The lock gates seem to be struggling to keep the water in. Flood conditions?
HFF and HANWE, dear Nick.

Wooooa!! hey dear Nick, lots going on here !! this scene could be from right here in my county
with all the rain for the last two days here. Roads closed all around in the county, either too much water in roads from the rain to pond dams breaking and overflowing the highways. its a mess. but luckily the sun is out today, LOTS of wind and freezing temps for the week, (in the 20's) brrr.

Have a great weekend Nick, hugs and best wishes, Sarah

Hi dear Sarah ~~~ The whole world has gone mad with extremes of too hot, too cold, too wet or too dry ~ keep your thermals on :))) Thanks for your good wishes Sarah ~ Stay safe, stay warm and keep baking ~ Hugs ~ Nick

My brother is on the Birmingham and Fazely and that canal is draining - as he says living on a boat is not a problem in current conditions!

No living on a boat seems very sensible right now :)) Hanwe

Hi Nick

I really like this. Sure looks flooded, but you might have expected somebody to open the gates a little.... Starting at the lowest one.

Best Wishes, HFF, and a good weekend

Opening the gates Peter would result in more flooding down stream, there is a river sharing the canal at this point and whilst I understand the logic of your suggestion, I guess it might cause too much damage ~ Hanwe ~ Nick

Hello Nick certainly a little damp under foot and indeed boat here .. i hope the walker keeps a watch on those mooring bollards with the water to make sure they are still on his left :))

Wishing you an HFF and hope you have a good weekend Nick

Best wishes ... Steve

A great shot Nick. My goodness it can't be very often that the locks overflow like this! That is quite a sight. A belated HFF and have a good weekend

Wow, I was just thinking that we are not seeing many snaps of our floods on here. A very dramatic capture here.

Regards and keep safe. Herb

Hi Herb ~ I think that Amelia's shots reveal the shocking state of affairs around the river Severn and whilst we have had some flooding around the Chalfonts it is nothing compared to the Midlands and North.

Thanks for your good wishes ~ Nick
