The wreck of RMS Mulheim

The tides and rocks will gradually do their bit to reduce this wreck to smaller and smaller bits of metal. She wasn't in service for long, and looked to be quite a grand ship. It seems to be difficult terrain here, Nick. How close did you actually get?

I got to within touching distance ~ there is a steep and precarious way down the cliffs to here, that I have negotiated once. Over the years the wreck has become more mangled for the reasons you mention.

The light on the rocks and the shadow of the foreground give good depth to the picture Nick. I suppose it would be an expensive job to remove the wreck, would it? I've just looked at the link and see it was a large ship! Very interesting and good shot.

I suspect that you are correct Rosa ~ it would be impossibly expensive to break it up into small enough pieces to be removed.. Give it time and nature will do the job. The wreck is not in the way of anything.

A few wrecks around here Nick. Not sure if i have seen this or not in situ. Reminds me a bit of
this wreck.

A great capture Nick. Looks a bit dangerous to get to it, especially if you slip on the sharp rusted sections.

I remember following the story of the Mulheim at the time. I didn't know it was still there. I recall seeing it the last time I walked the coast there but that was in 2010 and didn't take a camera or camera phone with me until the following year.
