Hey dear Nick, Ive seen this new series of the little Swan family and the boats, Hope they could finally get through the lock without being bothered by the boats, Its so interesting to see the pretty flowers right on top if the boats :) Amelia really needs to see this boat:)) The man seems to be friendly and smiling for the camera.:) a nice series Nick! IVe enjoyed it a lot.!

best wishes along with hugs, Sarah YS

The adult swans can fly of course, the cygnets not yet. It would be very dangerous for the swan family to try and occupy the lock at the same time as two boats, as they could easily get crushed wither between the two boats , or more likely between the wall of the lock and a boat. As the lock is filling or emptying there are powerful currents at work especially fore and aft of the boats. The swan was sensible to withdraw. I'm sure we could reach Shropshire by canal boat if we wanted to visit Amelia, but car would be more sensible :~) The man and his wife were very friendly, the other boat chatted with them too. All the very best ~ Hugs ~ Nick

Well well, almost a double whammy with Amelia Rose. This is lovely dear Nick. I feel as if it's my boat. We went on a canal trip yesterday for a 70th birthday. Great day out, and I did a lot of walking too. 'Our' boat is owned by the Lyneal Trust, boat trips for the disabled, and 2 of our friends are volunteers and get to use the boar for free 3 rimes a year. Very hot yesterday again - suncream and bottled water weather. Dull and moist today. ;-)
