Coppermill Lock ~ Grand Union Canal ~ This swan still has six of her seven cygnets remaining ~ that is pretty good

08/07/17 update.

The family all paddled into the lock, only to scuttle out again as a barge gently nosed in.

Sarah O', Rosalyn Hilborne, John Goodwin and 2 other people have particularly liked this photo

Ni Nick, as stated in another of these shots, Ive enjoyed this series. Ive noticed the young lady in the black swim suit almost in each photo., and she seems busy and involved with chores here along the edge of the canal.? she seems quite pale but involved in the comings and goings..
an interesting series Nick. The little Swan family has lots to watch out for..

Have a great Sunday, kind regards, Sarah

Well spotted Sarah, the young lady caught my eye, being a redhead it is not usual to have pale skin, although these days the hair could be dyed of course. Maybe they were on the first day of a canal holiday and would tan as the week passed. I think she was probably the daughter of the man skippering the righthand boat (The one that entered the lock first.) I suspect that the young man with glasses was either a brother or boyfriend.
In this shot I liked the energy she was demonstrating against the lockgate.

All the best to you & Mr O ~ Hugs ~ Nick
