A very bright and cheery shot, well composed, Peter - and all despite the blackness of the engine body!!
Best wishes,

Thank you Andy

It is amazing what difference a bright sunny day will make, and of course the sun is on this side of the loco. A lot of thought went into finding this spot, so I am really pleased that you like it.

Have a good week!

Thank you Steve,

I am really honoured by your visit here. While there are a lot of canals in Holland, there was only one such crossing on this railway, and it is this swing bridge!
They also burn smokeless fuel....

Enjoy your week!

What a wonderful capture my dear Peter!!

It looks there is an interesting bridge. I wonder about the two different constructions of this bridge. (right side and left side) Maybe they were built in different time...

A big YS from me!

My dear Füsun,

Thank you so much for visiting this railway, and of course for the awards.
I think you are right about the bridges. The locomotive is on a swing bridge, which looks quite old. The concrete on the right hand bridge looks newer. I think that at some time the bridge over the road was re-designed to give extra height which is why the girders look barely strong enough to support this big locomotive.

Love Peter
