Oh Andy what a glorious display of these flowers. I just love the colour. How long do you expect them to last there like that? My daughter has lots of bougainvillea in her garden in Turkey, which seem to last for months (maybe having so much sun gets them to do so!!!)

Thank you, Jenny. Typically Azaleas and their cousins the rhododendrons, are at their very best for a couple of weeks in May.And the great gardens here are utterly spectacular. I used to visit them as often as I could and I miss them now. By midsummer they've more or less gone. Then it's hydrangia's turn - always deep blue here due to the perfect acidic soil for them!
