Plaza de Castilla, Madrid, Torres Kio and the Hypodermic Needle.

Plaza de Castilla, Madrid, Torres Kio and the Hypodermic Needle.
The tall and thin sculpture to the right of the shot is called, irreverently, the Hypodermic Needle.

If you live / work in North Madrid these leaning towers are such an everyday sight that they cease to be 'stunnng' - especially as they have been part of the scenery since 1995. But of course you're right, and they are!
I used to teach at the top of the left-hand tower (top bods at Bankia). The views from there across to the mountains were spectacular. Unfortunately photography was prohibited for 'security reasons!'

A strange harmony between this "muddy" sky and these 3 threatening erections!
Hypodermic is topical!

An outstanding image. The buildings and the sky are perfect together. Modern leaning towers. They give a feeling of instability which in a bank may be more appropriate than we care to think. Like the sculpture and its nickname.

Please see my reply to John FitzGerald above. I taught at Bankia for a few years.

A suitable name Andy! Fabulous image. I wonder how it feels inside the leaning buildings?

Andy Rodker club has replied to Rosalyn Hilborne club
No feelings of instability at all. Perfectly normal, Even at the top of the 'leaning over' side!
Thank you, Rosa!"

Andy. WHAT AN AWESOME PHOTO ! you did great in composing this view. That sky is so dramatic! the buildings so unusual and interesting....I agree also about the Hypodermic Needle :) a really great shot, Andy. best wishes, Sarah

Andy Rodker club has replied to Sarah O' club
Thank you, Sarah. The buildings were revolutionary when built in the mid 90s. The 'needle' was added in about 2010
