That pre-historic clifftop tomb again!

I reckon if you'd been there this last few weeks, you'd be surprised at the clarity and colour of the sea here. It's amazing what no pollution does for the sea. Wonderful picture though.

I would have loved to have been in Cornwall through lockdown, rather than my gardenless flat in Madrid, Jenny!

Yes I think you would have had more luck, being able to walk along the shore and breathing in fresh Cornish air.

I have various books on pre-historic sites in Cornwall. This tomb was excavated in the 19th century. Of course, grave robbers had cleared it out long before. There are several more tombs of this type in Europe on the Atlantic coast (probably some in the Iberian Peninsula?).
It is not known when it was constructed, so I can't tell you if it was stone, bronze or iron age.
But because this is a ferocious coast, I would guess iron age as it is still visible in part.

Entendido. Cornualles es famosa y creo que lo hemos visto en películas o reportajes. Si, aquí también hay monolitos o dólmenes. En terrenos de mi pueblo hay varios y uno en especial lo veo muchas veces. Los situaban en lugares altos, donde se avistaba la mar y a otros que estaban en otros pueblos. Tampoco hay documentación. La piedra del que más veo aún mantiene el labrado en su base. Tengo fotos. Subiré alguna próximamente. Te tendría que contar que por aquí se dice que durante la glaciación, el mar Cantábrico quedó unido con UK, de manera que hubo migraciones sobre el hielo desde estas tierras a las vuestras.
