I don't suppose you see too many of these in the US, William but the great thjing is you get to see so much that we can't see, So that it probably balanced itslf out. ... If you see what you mean!

These much eroded stones are only seen nowadays on the steepest sections. 99% of the path is as flat as a pancake and all the stones have been long ago removed for wall and building construction locally, so in fact an easy stroll in the main!

Nice one Andy, the low sun has created a nice textured look with the stones.

All the best, Doug

Thanks Doug; shot into the sun which carries its own photographic hazards, especially on a smart phone and without filters, special lenses, etc!
Best wishes,
Andy

Glad you are back from hospital, Fred. Hope all OK.
Of clourse these were flat orifinally but this is on a steep slope and rain water rushes down here, eroding the granite slabs and stones over time!

An excellent addition to your Roman Road collection Andy.

Thank you, Keith.
I'm pleased you wrote 'road' not 'roads', because yes, all my shots are from the same Roman road, of which a mere 10 miles is known about and where the rest of it went (and so on) is a complete mystery!

By stepping on it, you'll end up wearing it out! Lovely shot, Andy. A so venerable and enduring remains...

In my few walks here not so, Eric! But multiply them by millions and then yes, up to a pont. However, the erosion here is, I'm 99% sure, caused by rainwater rushing down this steep slope over 1500 or more years!
