Very many thanks to you both!
Andy Rodker club has replied to RHHI actually live in the middle of Madrid but these mountains are only 25 minutes away in the car or 45 minutes by bus, and yet hardly anybody goes there! What a wasted resource!! Still, it means a nice bit of peace and quiet for me should I need it!
(The reason is that Spaniards only go to the country if they can include going to a restaurant for a relaxed 3 hour lunch at the weekend and there aren't any restaurants on the tops of these mountains! So they don't bother going! The thought of a packed lunch taken in one's rucksack is a concept utterly disdained! I know; we have these conversations in my Business English classes!)
