More unlikely granite rocks in La Sierra de La Cabrera
(and this one really did astonish me!)
I tried to find it again on subsequent walks, in order to photo the other side (my battery was running out on this walk and I wanted to reserve the power left for other interesting things!). I never found it again, mainly because there are zillions of granite boulders in this area!

Martine, ROL/Photo, Tractacus, Gudrun and 17 other people have particularly liked this photo

I'm surprised the Spanish equivalent of our "elf and safety" people haven't been out and bolted this down Andy................wouldn't want it to fall on anyone!

Seriously though, this is a bit of a monster, even by your standards! Nicely captured though.

I am 1,000% convinced that no one apart from me has even noticed this balancing act, Keith - seeing as it is nowhere near a path and that this mountainside has countless boulders all over the place! But you're right - I was (and still am) somewhat gobsmacked by this! And yes of course, I tried to rock it just a little - nothing! As firmly entrenched as you could wish!

Hi Andy

Great Capture showing the apparently precarious balance!

I can't explain it Peter. Of course I tested it out and it wouldn't rock at all. And what you see is the only contact point with terra firma!!!
Best wishes,
Andy
