Beautiful rock formation. But asparagus ! Where did that come from.

The island next to it (out of shot) is Samphire Island and there is certainly rock samphire there (indeed I have broken the law and collected it and cooked it with fish for supper), but I doubt asparagus could possibly grow here. I suspect that a twin name was sought and Asparagus sounded like a pleasing name and I agree!

At the moment the shot was taken, yes, Ron ... but half an hour later and a cloudless sky, a calm sea and families playing on the beach in the next bay at Portreath!
