Weird granite

Weird granite
Strange granite shape on the path up to El Cancho Gordo, It has a name which I knew but have since forgotten. Straight ahead is El Cancho de La Bola, haunt of Griffon Vultures.

It's much bigger than a sofa. Anyway it sits there on the main path up to these mountains. A chair much further up would be welcome to very many mountain walkers!

What an unusual find..................I'm surprised the erosion is so different to the surrounding granite, it almost looks sandstone-like.

Me too, Keith but I began to see this kind of erosion everywhere. I suspect that my shots normally show only the hardest granite but occasionally some of the softer granite remains, as here. But as I stressed before; I'm no geologist and if I look something up, the answer doesn't remain for too long in my noodle, so please don't treat my comments as in any way accurate!
