H. A. N. W. E. everyone! View from Carn Galva

Granite and coastal platform. Bosigran and Rosemergy Farm. Cornwall - West Penwith typicity. Below is Carn Galver engine house. Tin was mined here between approx 1850 and 70. Rather late - Cornish tin was already being out-competed on price from East Asia. It was the end of Cornish tin mining to any meaningful extent.
Also, the stone walls seen mid-distance here ('fences' in Cornish dialect) are thought to be the oldest extant man-made stone constructions - still used for their original purpose - of any in the world, at up to 8,000 years old.

I didn't post this on Pano. I always felt that it was too boring, no sun that day. I was wrong!

Fabulous view. Missed this when we were in Cornwall.
Andy Rodker has replied to Ron Hanko
That's a pity, Ron.
Some people (me included) think that the little coast road seen below here, between St Ives and Pendeen (on the way to Land's End) follows just about the most perfect little stretch of coast in the country!
(And it's only about 12 miles long!)

I try and climb Carn Galva on each visit but it's not always possible! I don't even get to visit Zennor every trip which is a shame as it is my spiritual Cornish home! But visits are short, and family duties take priority of course.
Thank you Pat!

I like (all of it, but especialy) the pattern created by the hedges around that tiny hamlet or village.
How could a weekend be not "nice" with looking on this capture! ;-)
Have a good Sunday still.

It's Rosemergy Farm. Some farms are nearly hamlets with 3-4 houses for extended family (and now summer guesthouses, etc).

There is a great pub less than 1 km away and another about 3 km away. I used to work in the nearer one. No problem in having a drink in each pub AND a walk up here!
