Not much flat ground around here then Andy.

Correct, Roger; which is just how I like it!
For flat, you need to descend to the plain below, where the rain in Spain always stays (!).
Very many thanks and have a great weekend!

Another wonderful (dangerous-to-tread) place. Beautiful photo as always.

There's a good, very well-trodden path, mainly hidden behind the rocks! The skill of the photographer has rendered it almost invisible!

Hello Ron, Yes. there was a time when I came here twice a week, I was MUCH fitter then than now - one visit a year! A Spanish girlfriend with different (but equally laudable) priorities put paid to increasing familiarity with this splendid walking country!

I Like your succinct comment, John! In a 3 dimensional way falling through space. I used to get this also in granite country; Cornwall. You go round a headland and suddenly there is the sea. I enjoy both Cornwall and Central Spain but one has the sea and the other doesn't!
All best wishes, Andy

I'm beginning to wonder what a marmite and peanut butter sandwich would be like. Maybe I'll take some on my next mountain walk!
Thanks Pam! Have a great weekend!

Another one to try, thank you!.
I can get Marmite in Madrid but only from a specialist shop and it costs am arm and a leg! My little jar is treasured and used as sparingly as possible!

I have to order from Amazon.. its actually not so bad .

Try one of the ex pat shops.. I know there are some in Spain... or bring a pound jar back from England with you.. cheaper still !!
Andy Rodker club has replied to Pam J club
There is an expat shop near me. It is on the tourist trail as it serves 'traditional English tea!' Popular with Chinese tourists (don't ask!). But they charge 7 euros for the smallest jar!
Your other suggestions works if you drive there and back but not if you fly as Ryan Air have a 15 kilos maximum hand luggage weight restriction (about the size of a small trolley) so you can take absolutely nothing that is not strictly critical (clothes, basically!). Or you pay a fortune for an extra bag in the hold.
Maybe I should investigate Amazon. Only ever used them to buy books in the past and not for many years!
Thank you!!
Have a good week!

Yes.. my bro who isnt my bro commutes back and forth to Spain with them.. and goes the cheap way.. makes sense but honestly.. an 8 oz jar would be VERY doable.. and alot less money. Think about it ! Amazon.. I use for a lot of things.. its just the postage.. so.. I would vote for an 8 oz jar in your paper bag hand luggage ! That wil last you reasonably well.

Well, occasionally I go by car (with my sister's family who also live in Spain) and then I really stock up with things like marmite, Colman's mustard, tubes of tomato concentrate (unknown in Spain), etc etc!
I did this in 2015 and still have the some of the marmite and mustard left (they both keep very well).

Andy Rodker club has replied to Marie-claire Gallet
Funnily enough, I find it easier to walk on than a slowly zig-zagging path. For a start the route to the top is more direct and much quicker so generally less tiring! As long as you are careful, it works well for me!

Tons of shapes with this rocks, maybe with another kind of light (not so vertical as in the shot) the shapes highlight more, otherwise nice shot

I'm sure you're right, Mario. But I have no choice. I am dependent on the bus timetable and can only spend the hours around the middle of the day and early afternoon here, before I have to think about getting back and not missing the last bus!+. With a car, I might be able to time it differently!

Andy another great shot of La Sierra de La Cabrera. I like that there are spots like this that not show off the power of the granite but the lovely vistas that seem to be never ending!

Saludos Andy

Love the formations of the eroded rocks and the brave, sparse vegetation that manages to find crevices where a bit of humidity must collect.
