Some days...

... are harder than others at work. Those low branches start tangling right at the ground and make it very difficult to walk through. The shoelaces get caught in them as well as the cables from the equipment... and your hands... and your legs :o) After a day of surveying in a land like this, your legs are all scratched and bruised and you don't look forward to the next day ;o)
And this is just the easy part, the rest of those trees is twice as high :o)

Get ímyndað mér að þetta sé ekki þægilegt, söguleg mynd hér á ferðinni

Takk fyrir kommentið Ester. Held einmitt að sagan réttlæti myndina, ekkert stórvirki hér á ferðinni, meira til gamans gert :o)

I remember on my trip to Iceland someone told me that if I got lost in the forest, all I needed to do was stand up ;-)))
I would go back do fast!
I actually lost my wallet my last day in your country, and someone find it and send it back to me a few days later!!!!

Oddur Jonssonpro replies:
Yes, usually it is enough to stand up when you get lost :o)
So, Icelanders seem to be very honest.... at least I hope the wallet wasn't empty when you got it back :o)

There's some leggings called Gators, that cover your shoelaces, and go up your calf to keep snow, ice and other things from going into your shoes. Those might work well for you.

Thank you John. I actually have gators. Never used them in the summertime, but I will take them with me on the next trip there :o) Then I only need some pads on my shin so I won't get so black and blue :o)

Veit ekki af hverju en einhverra hluta vegna finnst mér þessi mynd alveg ótrúlega fyndin... kannski eru það strákarnir á kafi í gróðrinum með loftnetin á bakinu eins og fálmara (eru þetta annars ekki loftnet?)... kannski er það eitthvað allt annað.

Ég veit bara að ef ég hefði verið þarna með ykkur þá væri það andlitið á mér sem væri allt í skrámum, ekki fæturnir á mér, og það væri hárið á mér sem sæti fast í greinunum, ekki skóreimarnar ;o)

Skemmtileg mynd af erfiðum vinnuaðstæðum...

Takk Begga. Vonandi á þessi mynd eftir að verða fyndin einhvern tíma. Núna bölvum við alveg hroðalega í hvert skipti sem við þurfum að fara inn í þetta hel....! ;o)
Þar sem skógurinn er þéttari og kjarrið hærra, náum við ekki heldur upp fyrir og verðum eiginlega að treysta á tækin að sýna okkur leiðina :o)

Thi thi!! Þekki svæðið erfitt að klöngrast þarna. Hvernig er með Teigsskóginn? Eru þið búnir að þrælast í gegnum hann?

Oddur Jonssonpro replies:
Erum bara búnir með auðveldasta hlutann á Hallsteinsnesi. Er að hugsa um að fara í langt frí þegar kemur að mælingum í Teigsskóginum sjálfum :o)

Ok,I can understand that you don`t look forward for such a working day! And at those days you have to look back for sailing or beeing at better landscapes ;O) I hope you don`t have this working conditions so often..

Oddur Jonssonpro replies:
Thank you Corinna. It isn't very often I have those working conditions but those days are terrible. Sometime soon we have about 8 or 9 kilometers of land with high bushes that we have to do surveys on and I'm thinking of taking a vacation then and get away from Iceland :o)

I was told 30 years ago when i was first time in Iceland "If you get lost in an icelandic wood, just stand up" It was supposed to be funny. Last june i noticed that the trees had grown very much, and i was happy for you.
regards Lise
