The house was built in 1928, by a store manager (Sigurður Þórðarson) who managed the only store in that region.
Some say this house has also served as a telephone exchange, a post office and possibly a guesthouse. Since around 1960, nobody has lived there.

Gaman að sjá svona seríu frá sama húsinu... flísarnar í ganginum eru magnað flottar! Svo hefðir þú þurft að taka mynd af veggjunum í ganginum til að búa þér til þitt eigið "overlay" ;o)

Takk Begga. Þetta ætti að vera góð auglýsing fyrir framleiðanda flísanna, alveg eins og nýjar eftir áratuga veðrun. Og kannski ég stoppi í bakaleiðinni og nái mér í mitt eigið "overlay" :o)

Þetta er svo flott hús, maður skilur eiginlega ekki hvernig það fór í eyði, það hefur þvílíkt verið lagt í það, flísar á gólfum og veggjum, þetta var ekki svo algengt. Veistu eitthvað um sögu þessa húss?

Flott sería og gaman að sjá hana svona alla saman. Líka sammála Beggu, verður að stoppa og ná þér í svona "overlay", svaka flott.

Takk Ingibjörg. Það er eiginlega ótrúlegt að sjá svona flott og íburðarmikið hús á þessum stað, sérstaklega af því það var byggt áður en vegasamband komst á. Ég var búinn að grafa eitthvað upp um húsið og bætti því við textann á ensku, ef fleiri skyldu hafa áhuga :o)

Þetta hús finnst mér alveg meiriháttar. Það er við Arngerðareyri innst í Djúpinu. Rétt áður en farið er yfir Steingrímsfjarðarheiði.
