Distortion

I use my 10-20 mm lens a lot these days and this pictures shows how it can distort things at 10mm... but I like it :o)

I love the wide angle and the rusty dot in the winterland scene - absolutely awesome!!!

Thank you Sandra. A whaling factory was built in 1889 at Flateyri by a Norwegian man called Ellefsen but it burned a decade later. Then they had already started to build another one but quit after they had built the chimney and a cabin over the steam generator. By then there weren't too many whales left around Iceland and Iceland was the first nation in the world to put a total ban on whaling in 1915 :o)

Ever tried a -20mm lens to get the whole island in one pic? I like the distortion too, it's a great white open, Oddur ;-)

Oddur Jonsson pro replies:
That is a great idea Charon! Until I get a -20mm lens I will just have to use a trampoline and jump high enough to get Iceland in one pic ;o)

It´s really intresting, that you nearly can´t see the water on this one.
Posted 5 months ago. ( permalink )
Oddur Jonsson pro replies:
Thank you dini. I had to put the camera almost on the ground to get all of the chimney so the sea almost disappears :o)

Well, I'd also like to know what this rusty kind of thing is ...
Posted 5 months ago. ( permalink )
Oddur Jonsson pro replies:
Thank you spekulatius. It is a steam generator from a whaling factory that was never completely built. You can see a more detailed answer in my first reply ;o)

Superb!! The rusty boiler and the derelict chimney really contrast well with the white snow, clouds and blue sky! :)

Thank you very much AS. Those old things look a bit odd out there in the open with nothing else around :o)

Takk Begga. Það er ótrúlegt hversu mikið aðdráttarafl svona gamlir, yfirgefnir hlutir hafa. Og ég skil vel linsuöfundina, finnst þetta alveg frábær kaup og algjört "must" að eiga ;o)

Flott mynd og flott að taka mynd á sama stað og norðurljósamyndina. Ótrúleg breyting milli daga og tíma. Ég er mikill aðdáandi 10-20 mm linsunnar. Nota hana mikið sjálf.

ógeðslega góð hugmynd Oddur - frábærar myndir báðar 2... Svona ryðgaðir hlutir myndast frábærlega vel, þ.e.a.s. allavega í þessu tilviki... :o)

Takk "ógeðslega" Ragga ;o) Ég var nýbúinn að taka þessa mynd þegar ég frétti af norðurljósum í Önundarfirði og þetta var fyrsti forgrunnurinn sem mér datt þá í hug. Kom bara vel út fannst mér :o)
