Pomarine Skua

The bird life here in Mauritania is very different between months. Some months everything is so full of birds that it is nearly impossible to take a sun bath because of bird poo.

Because of help from many Flickr members my bird has a name. Here are some of the answers I got when I asked for this birds name. "Pomarine skua" is the common name, it is also known as "Pomarine Jaeger " "Stercoraius pomarinus " is the Latin name Pale morph - some bird species come in different colors, your skua is one of the paler colored ones. Adult ... it is an adult bird, not a juvenile. The Icelandic name is Ískjói.
