From my motrocycle and golf trip to Banff

This picture was taken when I drove on my motorcycle from Vancouver to Banff Springs to watch a golf tournament with Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman, John Daly, Sergio Garcia and the Canadian Stephen Ames. The weather was great and the scenery was truly amazing. I enjoyed every minute of this long drive. I had to drive over 900 km in one day so I did not have much time to stop to take pictures. Next time I defiantly will :)

If someone wants to see the photos I took at the golf tournament you can look at it here, but I have to warn some of you that these photos are on my Flickr site :)

900 km in one day on a motorcycle would be quite a feat. You must have been stiff and sore when you got off.
This looks like the approach to Kamloops from Cache Creek.

This was in August and my wife had asked me to take some warm clothes because it might be cold in the evening when I came to Banff. It had been close to 30 degrees in Celsius in Vancouver so I just said yes to make my wife happy, but I did not want to take up all the space with things that I knew I did not need, so I did not take any warm clothes. When I came to Banff in the evening I was so cold that it took me hours to get some heat in my body. When I was on my bike close to dying out of cold I promised my self that I would listen to my wife next time if I made it to Banff LOL That part of the trip was the only part that was difficult for me. I enjoyed this trip more than I can describe. I did not realize that Banff was so high in the mountains (over 1000 meters) and that it was freezing cold at night in August :)

Yes, the shops in Banff sell sweaters and jackets in the summer. :))

I have to admit that I did not remember where I took this photo. I just stopped there for few minutes because I thought it was so beautiful. When you said Kamloops I looked it up in Google Earth. The first photo, and I mean the first photo I opened was so similar to mine that I had to copy it and put it here to show you :) I had never seen this place before so I thought it was remarkeble how similar these photos were. Thanks for the informations. It is much nicer for me to know where I took this photo :)

Takk Begga :) Já ég er með flestar myndirnar hérna á flickr líka. Ég hef verið að hugsa um að hætta þar og vera með allt hérna en ég hef ekki gert það ennþá. Samskiptin hérna eru miklu skemmtilegri og persónulegri hérna. Ég á nokkra mjög góða vini þar en það er ástæðan fyrir því að ég hef ekki farið ennþá.

That's a great view. We stopped at Kamloops Lake and took some photos from the parking area but we did not leave the highway. A very nice and beautiful place, worth a closer look.

Thanks Paolo :) If you go to Vancouver you should send me a line. My wife lived in Italy for over ten years so I am sure she would love to practice her Italian :)
