So happy that you love this film ... I re-watch this one about once a year, in the winter. I get cosy and just settle in for the experience. It was a box office disaster but I just love it! The central love story is a delight, as a social history it is fascinating and the tragedy of the central character's life ... his loss and regret ... is soooo bittersweet!
sentimental, sensitive and sensual ... imaginative ... at odds with the mundane twenty first century western urban life ... struggling to find meaning in its grey existence ... waiting for the wind to change ... a miracle ... a road to Damascus ... oh for a little epiphany ... and so on aprpopos of nothing and everything ... one day my princess will come ... I dont want to end up like this film ... in ennui, smoking a cigarette in comfortable boredom. There, that's my moan for the day!
This film is well worth making the acquaintance of ... unfortunately I haven't found a French dubbed version (I have been looking for another friend) ... and it is very long!
