Two's company, four's a crowd.

Two's company, four's a crowd.
Two pairs of robins about to do battle for their territory. The reddish blob just below centre is in fact the fourth bird but posing in a way that makes it indistinct.

I hope it was not too much of a war zone , good work to get that many robins in a shot . We had three at the back of the shop the other day, there was one with what looked like black stripes on his red breast , could not make out if it was colour or poss war wounds- failed to get a shot !

Oh dear, that looks like trouble! :o) Robins are not even in winter much into flock building!

Yesterday we almost bumped into fighting blackbirds in the garden centre parking lot. They had cussed and raced in the whole vincity while we put our purchases into the trunk, but then started to do the war dance rising into the air and trying to pin each other down again right behind our fender as we where ready to depart. They where just lucky that this newfangled back drive assistent camera showed the two angry little cocks, they seemed not at all impressed at a motor and exhaust starting to work next to them, just busy to get a stab at each others eyes exactly in this most impossible place... male birds in spring...
