I can see that the scratchy stuff is much higher than usual for June. Death by a 1,000 cuts!
Maybe, on reflection, the scrub hasn't been burnt away recently. I seem to recall that the vegetation was low when I came here (2010, I think) due to a scrubland fire the year before.
