Finding Way

Finding Way
These signposts were put up (1896-1898) after a tragedy where people died during a snowstorm. These signposts are along the old road between Kautokeino and Alta in Finnmark, northern Norway. They are now considered as national heritage. Dramatic sky and weather in summer and winter are prominent on the tundra.

I love these open tundra landscapes. A bit like the Cairngorms. It's so easy to get disorientated in snow and fog. The posts make a poignant memorial.
