song for guy is one of my all time favourites ... when I was young I used to hear it when I felt heartsickness (stupid word, "Liebeskummer" is much nicer). again and again ... til I felt better. sometimes it worked, sometimes not ... but I survived anyway. :-))

Did you know this: At the time Elton was recording the "A Single Man" album, in 1978, a messenger boy for Rocket Records (Elton's company) called Guy Burchett was struck by a car and killed while riding his bicycle. "Song for Guy" was written for him.
