Kroger superstore, Gassaway, WV
All three of the glorious, hexagonal signs. "Prescriptions" actually referred to the offerings of SupeRx, a drug store chain routinely paired with Kroger stores and owned by Kroger until the late 1980s. The SupeRx chain was acquired by Revco in 1994, with Revco falling into the hands of Rhode Island-based CVS four years later. Some SupeRx stores, including this one, remain open as CVS pharmacies today; though their numbers have been dwindling as of late in favor of standalone locations with drive-through prescription windows.
