Breathtaking atmosphere. I think, I wouldn't be able to sleep those nights. I would stay awake just watching the sky :-)

Mickey... it is really hard to go to sleep those nights... These lights are so breathtaking. Gurry (above) was with me this night and some other "girls" on a Aurora borealis hunt :o)

I've spent many a cold night last year somewhere in our 'wilderness' because there was a chance of northern light, but never was lucky (just cold). I'm so jealous :-)

I am waiting for those lights to appear in our sky these days so I will make you more jealous LOL - or you can just plan on visit Iceland and see them for your self :o)

This happens every once in a while during cold winter nights... Well, sometimes in the end of sommer also but most of the time you can depend on them around november - mars....

The fact that it is daylight 24hrs for a few weeks during the sommer time makes it impossible to see those lights at that season BUT I saw it in the end of august and they are mostly visible during the coldest and darkest nights... Winter time :o)
