Barbara, we are in Spring right now, and it still has been snowing two weeks ago.. We are on our way to summer already. I love all seasons in Andes mountains, so both I regret winter leaves as much as I'm happy summer is coming!

Ester, it is the contrast between the two different characteristics of the high pre-andean cordillera (mountains) and the mountains. This pre-andean lands are a typical stepa like very dry with the vegetation you can see, that can resist not only very dry seasons as well as strong winds, and extreme temperatures in summer and winter.
