Ridgegate Reservoir to Nessit Hill

Ridgegate Reservoir to Nessit Hill
Nessit Hill, where that flask was "found," is the denuded hilltop on the skyline. The seat was on the very top this side of the two trees. The water is some of Macclesfield's drinking water in Ridgegate Reservoir in the Bollin Valley upstream of Langley. The trees are part of the commercial afforestation known as Macclesfield Forest which is in the process of being harvested and re-planted, hence the rather bare hill. Quite a number of new viewpoints have been opened as a result as well as a number of new public paths, some of which are bridleways. The day was rather a dull one but some of the Autumn colours still shone through.

Thank you Kevin. For a coniferous woodland, that is not bad colouring.
