The top of the Cheviots

The top of the Cheviots
Following on from the last two shots on my photostream about Coquetdale in Northumberland, this is the view when you climb out of the valley. It is not always open to the public as it is a MOD Training area and is closed when the ranges are in use. These are the Cheviot Hills, a part of the Pennines, in the Northumberland National Park. It is a vast view with no obvious target to photograph, hence the two shot panorama. It is looking towards the distant North Sea. No idea what the smoke is all about! It was so peaceful up there with just the breeze, the clouds, the open moors, the clean air - and the occasional burnt out tank! We were the only people up there and were reluctant to drive away.
