Falmouth Bay, Cornwall.
Gyllyngvase frontage onto Falmouth Bay in Cornwall, UK. The floodlit building on top of the hill is Pendennis Castle, one the last loyal Royalist strongholds in the English Civil War. The whole area has been a defensive position since the 16th Century Tudor times up to and after World War Two. The headland is still the base of Falmouth Coastguard. The lower light, to the right of it, is St Anthony Head lighthouse. That headland was another well protected spot and its works, now in the National Trust, give splendid views of the Bay.
