Arctic Tern

This photo was taken by my wife who got a much better shot of this beautiful bird than I did. The bird was photographed at Potter's Marsh, a wildlife refuge south of Anchorage. This bird has the longest migration route of any, up to 55,000 miles.

Wonderful capture of the Artic Tern with the wings ready to take off. I visited here and got off a few shots until the mosquitoes drove me back into my car. With so many birds there, you'd think that they could eat more of the mosquitoes.
