Eastern Washington Haying Time

Eastern Washington Haying Time
Can't decide whether this picture is just monotonous or whether it's worth posting, but, trying to finish up my series of shots from eastern Washington (only a couple left) I thought I'd post it. At least the clouds are impressive.

Well, the sky and rolling hill makes for a nice landscape, tho' it is not a pristine wild one with all the pressed straw. Nice it is not silage packaged into plastic foil they produce there. :)

Ron, can't remember if your a post processor or not but, if this were mine I would crop the bottom just above the 6th bale of hay and then make the sky much darker adding drama to the overall scene. Cropping the other way just destroys that great sky. Just my opinion.

Not monotonous at all! You may think so because you've seen these pictures and this place, but WE HAVEN'T! :D Great field of hay bales, super clouds, wonderful composition too. Really nice, and I'm happy that you posted it! :)

Being a farm girl, I always am nostalgic when I see scenes like this. I love bales of hay which are not plastic wrapped!

The big western sky...the wide open land...the nostalgia of farming...(I grew up on a farm In Pennsylvania, yet lived in the West for a while) ...all make me like it...thanks for sharing.

As something we see very often we may take it for granted yet so many never see these types of scenes! I personally never tire of seeing bales in the golden fields top off with a beautiful sky!

Wonderful shot. Most of the bales of hay that I have seen recently are large and round.

Hay bales are very tempting to photograph - I have tried a few times myself. The clouds in this one have real interest, such are their wispy, sweeping patterns. Almost two thirds of the photo is sky so that's important that it does indeed add something. The yellow/brown of the field is nicely captured and the shadows on the bales themselves add texture to the shot. In My Opinion, the horizon line is a distraction as I like them straight, or a least level. However, it is still a good shot and I thank you for posting it to this group.

This photo has lovely colours in my opinion, but it needs some saturation to bring them out. It will then have more impact. I like the subject, the open space is beautiful. I would also use the rule of thirds here to give it more composition leaving two thirds for the sky.All in all a very good picture!

Beautiful landscape. The contrast between the blue sky and the gold of the field is lovely. The clouds are great with the different shades of grey, I particularly like the dark flat underside the way they are appearing over the horizon adds to the shot. Makes me want to go over the other side of the hill and see what is there.
