Pigeon Guillemots

Pigeon Guillemots
These Pigeon Guillemots (Cepphus columba) are common in our area and are rather humorous birds with short stubby wings and an inclination to crash-land in the water. These were photographed near Deception Pass while doing the boat tour there with a grandson.

Bjarne Stokke, Mitch Seaver, Marcel Lemieux, Rita Hart and 2 other people have particularly liked this photo

What interesting looking birds. It would be fun watching them land in the water. Great shot, Ron

So cute little fellows!
All alcidae seem so special to me, likely for as a landlubber living near the alpes I rarely get to see any.
