Glacier Lily

Glacier Lily
This was photographed on one of our frequent trips through the passes of the North Cascades, in this case, Washington Pass on the North Cascades Highway. The day was very dark and wet and there was still a lot of snow in the pass, but these were poking their way through the snow and blooming by the thousands along the road. For those who are interested the botanical name of this wildflower is Erythronium grandiflorum.

This is so beautiful, Ron, and thousands of them together must have been truly awesome! Thanks for your visit and kind and funny comment. You always give us a smile, and MLW really loves them and is encouraged by them.
