Sunrise over Wivenhoe

Yes, believe it or not, I managed to get up at 3am to drive to Lake Wivenhoe for the sole purpose of taking photographs at sunrise.

I was out shooting for the Esk Shire photography contest (due on the 31st of this month). This is one of the ones I'm not submitting.

"Sunrise over Lake Wivenhoe" is now for sale as Prints or Posters.

It involved putting the camera on the tripod upside down about an inch from the mud next to the water's edge.

Beautiful shot, have you fire the flash?
Posted 2 years ago. ( permalink )
David de Groot replies:
Sure did. The camera was mounted upside down on the middle column of the tripod, the on-camera flash was fired to light the foreground.

hehehe far from normal time for me. My first Dawn shoot (on purpose, I've been up at dawn for other reasons before, although not very often).

I've since discovered that staying up all night is a lot easier than getting up early. Future dawn shoots will likely be done like that.
