Fashion Victim

Before I came to Canada, 4 years ago, I had worked ten years for the oil industry in Paris. I hated life in an office. Or was it because it was in Paris, where you have to make extra hours every day to be considered as a dedicated resource, where you have to arrive before your boss and leave after him(/her - but too rarely, especially in the oil industry), where you have to deal with gossips about how you slept with whom to get this or that position - of course your diplomas and talents aren't the point when your looks are ok, and so on, and so on. Plus the amount of stress I can cope ith is pretty small, and in this industry, there's no way you can make a nice fulfilling career without experiencing stress sooner or later.
When I finally decided to cross the big pond, I made myself the promise never to live that again. I have never been happier professionally. Sometimes I miss having colleagues or some of the bosses I had, with whom I had some fun, and also some of the thrill of global bids or of creating a new subsidiary abroad, but I have my peace now, this has no price.
Except now I can't dress up.
Damn it, I miss that.

Depuis Noyel.

I must remain too much of a Parisian, I think the "now" me is too relaxed!

Hmmm... I have for so long thought about doing exactly this shot! :o) I work in an office and I'm forced to wear black trousers and high heels to work every day... then when I get home I change into old jeans and a black hoodie... the contrast is incredible, I completely change into a different person... on the outside that is! :o)

Great diptych... but I could never wear white trousers... LOL, to daring for me!

Miz J. [ˈmiz ˈjā fə-ˈtä-grə-fē] pro replies:
Yeah well, you know the power of image and PS... The major advantage of self-portraits is... that you can choose the best picture. So photogenicity (?) is verrrry relative... ;-)

Not in Montreal, my Dear, in Montreal, people are dressed more casually than in Paris. Thank God I get to go to Paris every now and then, and have the chance to dress up a bit and buy trendy clothes.
Merci ;-)

Believe it or not - I think I'm having a little shortness of breath over both versions. And then - it could also be grass pollen :-P Now, seriously: Great idea and delivering it. Errr... here's a thought: How about a semi-blended version, the right one with GLASSES on? ;-) I think, I'm delusional with fatigue now. OK, checking myself in... to bed, that is.

You looking great on both.. and I know exactly what you mean... after I moved from Hamburg downtown to the countryside of Swizterland sometimes I am missing the catwalk :-) (do not get me wrong I do not want to compare Hamburg and Paris or Montreal and the countryside of Zürich, but the feeling is the same))
