Augsburg 2

1994, again, just an hour or so after the other picture. Cora is sitting amidst the remains of an Early Christian church. No wonder she’s in a meditative mood. Or perhaps she’s still bothered by the sticky fingers she got from the previous ice disaster.

Old Woodchuck says:
No Early Christian church is a match for a healthy and motivated three-year old. Did you try to get her to put it back together?

She doesn’t look very motivated here, does she? Just sitting in the grass, and watching the world go by. Very much like her father... No, she’s not a rebuilder of churches, and I wouldn’t encourage her to do so.

A peaceful shot though, and one which should encourage contemplative thought :-))

Rare to find such a peaceful and secluded spot. Another excellent character study! :-)))

Thank you, Nigel! It’s an “archaeological site” bordering the monumental St. Ulrich & Afra church (I have tried to geotag it, though I’m not quite sure of the exact location).
The nice thing about handling a big manual camera with a waist-level finder is that people are less aware of being photographed: all they see is you turning rings and pushing buttons on some strange kind of machinery, and when it says “clack” it’s too late. I haven’t been able to take many moody pictures of Cora, though, and I’m glad I got this one.
