It would be rude of me to compare this with Lego-Land... But I feel very guilty in being unable to banish the image... However, I feel mature enough to set aside my cruel comparisons and suggest "cleanliness is next to Godliness" . In the UK this delight would be a dull grey... :(

Your Legoland comparison is understandable enough. Occasionally, we’ve visited Bavarian towns highly praised for their historic centres, only to find out that these were impeccably white and looking as new (perhaps that’s why we love Italy so much).
Here, the distance is a bit misleading; a closer look would reveal some decay. I’m sure they’re working on it!

Sadly, it isn’t really. It’s in the far south, almost Austria. Which doesn’t mean, of course, that you can’t see it!
