The architect firm Snøhetta is behind this wonderful building, the same architect firm that are responsible for the library in Alexandria, Egypt. I find it fascinating how Norwegian architects so often succeed in making building fit into their surroundings. You might think that the houses might lack personality, but they don't. They have got character and entering this building was like an adventure, looking at it closely from the outside was a double adventure. Visitors are able not only to walk around it, but walk all over it.
Formal opening was on April 12th. this year. Not only was the building finished ahead of schedule - it was also 300 million Norwegian kroner under the 4,4 billion budget.
