Thames barrier totale 


Today was the day when once a year the Thames barrier flood gates are tested for high spring flood. We couldn't possibly miss this occasion to see the Thames flood gates closed :)

Not really although they pretty much look like Sci-Fi! These Thames barrier flood gates where built between 1979 and 1982, believe it or not and they have protected London several times already against severe spring floods!
