The first three novels are kick-ass, and I just love the movie to bits. The tv series kind of sucks, though.

Jorge, you are right, I love the novels, I like all six of them to be honest, although it takes some time to get used to the idea of completely new characters except for Duncan and the historic distance between the events of the first three and the last three books. But in my personal opinion, number four "God Emperor of Dune", is the most genial one! And like you I love the Lynch movie, the miniseries lacks atmosphere!
