Wow! Although I don´t like exaggerated HDR-treatment, it works really good on this picture. Looks like a painting!

It's the usual effect I obtain from the Fattal operator. The real problem is that this operator is very noisy over 1024 pixels of width

Maybe you should try another software then. How about Photomatix?

Roberto Ballerini - travelingpro replies:
I tried Photomatix. It isn't free and I think the price tag isn't justified by the quality obtained: much more limited in parameters and less improved in time (I've seen a very fast improvement of QtPfsGUI over the last versions and I'm very confident it will surpass Photomatix as soon as the aligning plugin will be completed).

Just FYI, I use qtpfsgui too, and align my pics with hdr_alignment_tool, which is also free.
Also, you might already know but if you shoot a raw image, you can use qtpfsgui on the single file (you don't need 3 different exposures, so no alignment needed)

Roberto Ballerini - travelingpro replies:
Thanks, Jean-Michel. It is a Windows app; I use Linux. The last version of qtpfsgui uses the new hugin alignment plugin, but for Linux there are only the sources and I was too lazy to compile it (for Win there is a compiled exe).

ok. If I have time in the coming days, I'll try to compile a linux binary and let you know.

It totally looks like an airbrush painting.
