맷돌


I spied this 맷돌 (Maet-dol) or grindstone lying in the snow one morning. It is used for grinding grains and beans, which are fed in through the hole in the top.

Rolleiflex, Acros, Rodinal 1:50, 13 minutes @ 20½ºC.

Wow, this is interesting. I'm not sure I would have recognized this for what it if I had happened across it. How old would something like that likely be?

hard to say bob... i don;t think it's archeological or anything, but it's pretty well worn. i think it has simply been discarded and left in the garden when it got too worn to use. they are still in commone use. could be 10, 20, 50 years old, could be more - who knows?
