West Coast Totem Pole.

West Coast Totem Pole.
Dianne lucked out with this one......the Museum of British Columbia advertised this Totem Pole for sale, and Dianne purchased it the same day.

The shipping fees to Toronto was almost as costly as the Totem Pole itself.

It is majestic, and now owned by one proud Canadian.

Buxtehude von Humper…
I'm curious as to the "cane" hanging from the top of the pole. Is it a part of the original carving?

No...on a recent sailing vacation in BC, she was presented with this elder's walking stick.

In years gone by, she had acted as a representative in Toronto, for many of the aboriginal carvers from the west coast of Vancouver Island.
