Little stores

In my area little stores have really hard life: they close one after the other because they can't face anymore the big malls and internet commerce. It's a loss especially for the valleys in the mountains area. Little stores are a sort of social meeting point where older people living in small villages can find someone to talk with. Villages in the mountains are loosing schools and post offices therefore these stores are the last chance to maintain them alive. Capitalism has a price: you don't invest where there isn't an economic interest. And mountain area, beside the tourist places, it's a loss of time in terms of making money... I really wonder about that but I can't see how to stop this (bad) evolution...
