I think she tore it off to carry around, but then dropped it and discovered it made a good hideout. She is the smartest dog I've ever known, though not as smart as the deceased Skidboot.

She does indeed have superior intelligence, she is the smartest dog my son's family has ever had, and they have had nine! She invents many projects for herself because she has no sheep to herd.

That's the problem with dogs like that--they'll find things to do! Not always good things-- ;) We have a couple of escape artists now.

Absolutely! It's much easier for the humans since they moved to an enormous hay-growing property. She can run all day, as can the other three. Makes for calm evenings in the house. One of theirs used to be an escapee, but he's too old now for all of that.

But from all the available hiding places she has chosen the best! :-)
