Can you still get a bath there, Diane?
Stunning light and colour. Edward Hopper, of course. I’d have liked more of that telegraph pole.

Absolutely right about the pole. The photo was tilted quite a lot, and in straightening I lost space on the left. In order to keep at least some of the pole, I didn't straighten as much as I wanted. I should just crop the stupid pole out!

Thank you very much and excuse me while I inquire about the bath.

Oh wow! This looks more like a power plant than a hotel.............no frills there! It's a really imposing building though.......and I like the fading sign.

A super example of urban decay!

Haha - you're right! I've always wondered about that excessively long chimney. It reminds me of a crematorium. Thank you, Keith!

I'd hate to stay there in the winter.

It must be awful. The windows are barely holding on. It's occupied by single men (mostly) who are a bit on the margins of society. This and several other old hotels are a step above the homeless shelter.

Next to a signs painter they should employ a gifted gardener soonly.

That would be nice. However, this is the back of the building, so they ignore it. ;-(
