Love the bright colours, it looks as if you'd set your Christmas tree on fire;-)

Wonderful color composition! I also like the different types of surface.
"Stricken" – do you really mean "knitting"?

Haha! Oh sure, embroidery (I actually did that, briefly, in my 20s!). Thank you, Cheryl!

Stunning colours.................it makes an intriguing abstract. I think the red part in the bottom left corner looks a bit like the hull of a boat?

Yes, it does look like that, but it's the side of a wood "hope chest." Thanks, keith!

Superb!
What's a hope chest please, Diane?

Thank you! It's a wooden trunk, sometimes lined with cedar, that a young woman fills with linens and other household finery in the "hope" she will be married. It's not done much, anymore, but people still buy them as storage or just antique decor. From Wikipedia: The term "hope chest" or "cedar chest" is used in the midwest or south of the United States; in the United Kingdom, the term is "bottom drawer"; while "glory box" is used by women in Australia.[1]

Sorry, Wiki writer, the term hope chest is used all over the US.
