The new pup

The new pup
Her name is Crescent. My granddaughter works a few hours per week at a vet clinic and met this little dog that had no home. She had to have a leg amputated and had other injuries. I don't know details, yet. Carley is paying for part of its care and food in the future with her own money (Grandma will pitch in). The pic on the right was taken an hour ago. She had her surgery just today!

Yes, I remember Flicka's shave! She's the sweetest little dog and already shows signs of being the alpha of the pack, which will total four dogs. It's really very funny, when one of the big male dogs got too personal too soon, she growled. He immediately moved away with his tail between his legs. Later, they were good friends. Very funny to watch. ;-b

She is still at the clinic, with visits from the other dogs and family, but will be going home soon. I bought her a new collar and leash so she could have a fresh start from her filthy old leather one.

I MUST REMEMBER TO TYPE IN CAPS FOR YOU! THANK YOU SO MUCH, PAM!

What a lovely story with a happy ending Diane. She looks unsure in the middle picture but I am sure she will come to love her new and caring home. ♥

She was unsure for the first several days. She had been through a lot - falling out of a car window, being abandoned by her owners, surgery to try mending her leg, then amputation when it failed. Thanks, Rosa!

Oh dear, that is so sad...............but it's amazing how resilient these animals are and she'll manage perfectly on three legs. She's a really beautiful dog and I'm sure she'll find her forever home soon.

Well done to the clinc, your granddaughter and you for all playing your part in her care and recovery ;-)

Sad no longer. She will be going to her new home in a few days and has met the family and her 3 new pack members already. The dogs went to the clinic one at a time and they all got along fine with her. She growled at one of the big males for getting too personal too fast - lol!

Thanks, Andy, it's added a lot of fun to the family's dull days of the dad's work furlough. Carley will be working to pay for the extra food, vaccinations, etc.
